My Super Heresy Project

I started with a Heresy II THSR-2 2-way

Close-up of an electronic circuit board with wires and components in foam padding.

Crossover

22

I modified the crossover from 2 way to 3 way.

Not as good as the ALK Universal 3

New parts

Tweeter

12

Replaced the tweeter with Eliptrac  HF-2

Driver is the  Lavoce DN.10.142 amazing!

Digital caliper measuring a circular metal object's thickness.

Mid Horn installation.

First time installation of the Fastrac FT701-II

Takes a little sanding , less than a minute with a dremel and sanding drum.

Mid Horn with K52 driver and my adapter

22

Nice fit after a bit of sanding.

Question - why not make the horn smaller so you don't have to sand? Answer - I don't want to make the horn any thinner.

Woofer

12

Woofer Eminence Delta Pro 15a was a poor choice for Heresy 2. This is a great woofer but the grills can't be installed, a better choice for Hersesy II is the Celetion TF1225 - on order.

Port

15

I removed the original input terminal plate and 3D printed this replacement plate with integrated port.

Super Heresy HII

22

Assembled and sounding good, still have some tuning to do, but very pleased with initial results.

Riser

12

3D printed 7 degree riser.

Preliminary Graph

22

The bass is low, because my initial testing was done with the speaker on a portable work bench. I will do additional testing and tuning when new woofers arrive. I also need to adjust the tweeter attenuators up 1-2db, but I have additional tweeters to test as well.
